Tour Itinerary

It's from there that your trip into Mewar commences, taking you to Udaipur, also known as the “City of Lakes” or the “Venice of the East.” On arrival you are met and transferred to your hotel in Udaipur by us. You take a rest and then you walk around the big city. The first port of call is the stately City Palace, which sprawls across courtyards, balconies and museums, channeling all of the royal history (this stronghold was the home of the Sisodia dynasty. Glistening Lake Pichola in the background as you take the snap leaning against the palace is a memory worth cherishing forever. Close to the palace is the Jagdish Temple, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and famed for its carvings and stone work. Grow titillated at the palaces, become titillated in the evenings as you should and then make your way to Lake Pichola, where a boat ride is waiting. Floating along the water in palaces like the Jag Mandir and Lake Palace creates a surreal experience.

The second day at Udaipur starts with a tour of the Saheliyon ki Bari, the famed Garden of the Maidens with marble fountains, lotus pools, and lush green lawns that used to serve as a private respite of the royal ladies. From here, drive forward to Fateh Sagar Lake, the magnificent artificial lake set amidst hills and gardens providing a tranquil sanctuary from the rush of life.
Later in the day, you visit the Vintage Car Museum where grand cars of the Maharajas of Udaipur are displayed, giving an insight into the lavishness of the royal times. Another walk through Udaipur’s vibrant bazaars such as Hathi Pol and Bada Bazaar.continues to add vivid hues to your holiday with miniature paintings, silver jewelleries, handicrafts and traditional textiles available in shops as souvenirs to take back home. Next you head to Bagore Ki Haveli in the evening for a cultural performance that showcases Rajasthan’s traditions with colourful folk dances, puppetry and music. It's a good way to end your day, you'll be drooling in the rhythm and spirit of Rajasthan. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Post breakfast cross, continue your journey to the city of Chittorgarh This city symbolizes power and sacrifice of Rajputana. You start your visit to the Chittorgarh Fort after you get off your scooter and check in your hotel; the Chittorgarh Fort is one of the largest forts in India, it is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Far and wide on a large hill the fort contains a world of history. In the midst of the fort, one notices the Vijay Stambh or the Tower of Victory built by Rana Kumbha and is a proud emblem of Mewar’s triumphs.
The most loved place is Padmini’s Palace, associated with the beautiful queen Padmini who committed bravely jouhar, (an act of self immolation), that is still recalled with reverent horror. The Rana Kumbha Palace is no different and is a living testament to Mewar’s glorious, yet controversial history. You can also go for a light and sound show in the evening which poetically unfolds the legacies of the fort while bringing to life the walls gloriously with honor and bravery. Overnight stay at Chittorgarh.

The following morning, after a delicious breakfast, you begin your drive to Kumbhalgarh. The ride too is picturesque with the Aravalli mountains for company. After your check-in at the hotel, you head out and visit the stunning Kumbhalgarh Fort, which is yet another one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Reports suggest the fort’s walls stretch over more than 36 kilometers, a wall roughly similar to the Great Wall of India, and one of the longest in the world.
You will get to see temples, palaces, and most importantly, the place of birth of Maharana Pratap – the great warrior of Mewar. As you stand on the fort which offers an expanded hill view in all directions, you get vibes of invincibility associated with this place. In the evenings the fort puts on a light and sound show, if you get a chance to go this can be a magical take on its dramatic settings. Overnight stay at Kumbhalgarh.

The fourth on your journey is Mount Abu, the lone hill-station in Rajasthan and a contrast in landscape. On arrival and check in to your hotel later visit the Dilwara Jain Temples and commence your city tour. These temples are marvels of marble architecture whose intricacy of carving will leave you spellbound. They are among the best Jain temples in the world and are a must-visit attraction in Mount Abu.
Thereafter, you visit the Nakki Lake where you can enjoy a boat ride around the serene lake and later, return to the hotel. Opt for a quiet boat ride, or a simple stroll along its banks.  You go to a sunset point that should be by a hill or if you’re climbing a hill, it’s a very gorgeous sight to see the full shining sun getting set behind the hinterland that will change the shades of all the sky. Overnight stay in Mount Abu.

Post breakfast, start your way back to Udaipur visiting two of the significant spiritual sites of Mewar. Nathdwara is primarily a town known for the Shrinathji Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple is not just a place of worship, but is also famous for the exquisite pichwai paintings done by the local artists. There is no worship quite like what is in the air here.
Not far off stands the Eklingji Temple, which is the family temple of the rulers of Mewar. The temple compound is as devoted as it is artful, creating refined shrines and pillars. Post these trips, you move on to Udaipur and have a leisurely evening. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

On the last day after breakfast you depart from your hotel and transfer to Udaipur airport/railway station for your onward travel. Finish your Rajasthan Mewar Tour with memories of glimmering lakes, forts of heroism, temples of spirit and stories of Rajputana's valor and sacrifice.
