Tour Itinerary

 

Arrive at Chandigarh Airport or Railway Station. There, you will be greeted by our tour representative who will guide you to Shimla – the former summer capital of British India. Situated in the midst of pine-covered mountains, Shimla is waiting for your arrival with its colonial atmosphere.

 

Reach Shimla and check-in at the hotel. Take a leisurely evening walk on the Mall Road. Don't miss Christ Church, the second oldest in North India, and Lakkar Bazaar for the woodwork.

 

Overnight Stay: Shimla

 

 

After breakfast, visit Shimla's key places of interest – like Jakhoo Temple, a Lord Hanuman temple, and Kufri, a hill station with scenic views.

 

Afternoon, drive to Narkanda – serene retreat renowned for apple orchards and ski slopes. On the way, visit Hatu Peak to witness breathtaking Himalayan vistas.

Begin your own drive to Sangla Valley, the gateway to Kinnaur. The drive is scenic, going through emerald forests and boulder-filled terrain along the Baspa River.

 

Overnight in riverside camp or homestay on arrival. Relax amidst the serene landscape, pine fringed hills, and wooden bungalows.

Drive today to the second last Indian village on the route to Indo-China border. It is the most scenic village of Baspa Valley.

 

Walk through wooden houses, interact with villagers, and have fresh trout at a riverbank cafe. Return to Sangla for campfire and bonfire stories amidst the night sky.

Breakfast, drive to Kalpa, a small village surrounded by Kinner Kailash mountain range. Enroute, stop at Reckong Peo, district headquarters, to visit local market and Buddhist monastery.

 

In Kalpa, explore Suicide Point, Kalpa Monastery, and beautiful sunset view on snow peaks.

Day 6 excursion brings you even closer to the Spiti Valley. Drive on Khab, where Spiti River meets Sutlej River, and drive past the Nako village renowned for its holy lake.

 

Reach Tabo in the evening and check-in. Explore the Tabo Monastery, a 1000-year-old world heritage site with historic murals and frescoes.

While traveling on the road to Kaza, halt at Dhankar Monastery, which lies atop a cliff overlooking the valley of Spiti. The old palace of the kings of Spiti, Dhankar was stunning with dramatic landscapes.

 

Drive to Kaza – the administrative capital of Spiti. Visit the small market, street restaurants, and acclimatize to the high altitude.

 

Night Stay: Kaza

 

 

Post breakfast, visit Key Monastery, the largest monastery in Spiti, surrounded by layered hills and prayer flags. It's a seat of learning for monks and offers spiritual peace.

 

Then head to Kibber, the world's highest motorable village. Enjoy a hot meal and interact with villagers who have kept their ancient tradition intact.

 

Overnight Stay: Kaza

 

 

Leave early for a visit to the enchanting Chandratal Lake (subject to weather conditions). This crescent-shaped lake, surrounded by arid mountains, keeps changing color during the day.

 

Sleep overnight in Swiss Tents, gazing upwards at the stars under one of India's best skies.

 

Night Stay: Chandratal Camp

 

 

Leave Chandratal and drive via Kunzum La Pass (15,000 ft), with stunning Himalayan landscapes.

 

The landscape now changes from the hill beauty of Spiti to the green fields of Manali. On arrival, check-in hotel and unwind.

 

Night Stay: Manali

 

 

Post-breakfast, go to the most prominent sights in Manali – Hadimba Devi Temple, Manu Temple, and Vashisht Hot Springs. Explore Tibetan Monastery and walk along the bustling Mall Road.

 

You may also sample local cuisine and shop for woollens and handicrafts.

Spend the day at Solang Valley – sports adventure center. Paraglide, zip line, and zorbing are a must-try.

 

If weather is good and Rohtang Pass is open, proceed further and experience snow landscape and scenic glaciers (allowed).

Experience Kasol, hippie paradise on the banks of Parvati River. From Israeli cafes to woodsy niceness and hippie vibe, Kasol is a laid-back retreat.

 

Trek from Chalal Village or explore Manikaran Sahib, renowned for hot springs.

Unwind at Kasol for a day of leisure. Take a yoga class, have a sip of herbal teas, or shop for handmade soaps and dreamcatchers. Mix with foreign tourists.
